Richard I. Chavez never sought recognition for his work when starting his career as a lapidary artist in 1976. His thoughts were first and foremost of making a better life for his family. Yet in the years since, Richard would become known for his craft and his work would be highly sought after. In 2006, Richard’s son Jared would officially join him in the business, forming Chavez Studio.
